About Me

Here you are. You've stumbled into my blog and are undoubtedly asking yourself, "Who in the world is Angela Wedel?" So, allow me to introduce myself....

I am a wife, a mother, a teacher, and a student, and I am completely dedicated to becoming better at all of these roles.

For the past thirteen years I have taught English Language Arts for a a small high school district in California's San Joaquin Valley. In these thirteen years I have literally taught every English course that our district offers, from general English 9 up to AP Language. I currently teach at Wasco Independence High School, which is the district's continuation high school. Working with students who have been identified as "at-risk" comes with many challenges that are unique to other learning environments, but I love my students and I love my school and I believe that God has put me right where I need to be.

I am also a college student....again.  Last August, after many years of "thinking about it", I finally got enough courage to begin working towards my master's degree. I am about half way through the Masters in Educational Technology program at Fresno Pacific University, and I'm loving it.

Why blog?

Well, for two main reasons.

For one,  I want to share what I've learned about teaching and technology and continue learning more. It is my hope that this will be a place where educators can come together to share experiences, knowledge, tools, and resources.

My second reason is a little more selfish. To be honest, this master's program is moving fast and I'm afraid I'm going to forget what I've learned from one class to the next. This blog will be a place for me to store all the awesome stuff I'm learning.

I am definitely not an expert in teaching or technology. I am in no way qualified to give advice. But, I do hope that I can offer a little help to anyone looking to connect with other educators and perhaps learn something new.
